How to admit to VSMU

Application form to get the invitation

Admission Requirements

 The applicant is considered eligible if he/she submits Secondary School Graduation Certificate with good estimations in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Items to be submitted For drawing up and sending You an Invitation we need the following documents:

1. Application with passport data, home address, tel./fax. number, E-mail etc. (for exemplification see PDF-form: Application Form to get the invitation);
2. Photocopy of Your passport;
3. Photocopy of the accomplished education Certificate (in Russian, English, French, Spanish or German);
4. Medical Certificate, based on complete medical examination, indicating that the applicant is physically and mentally fit and can study in the climatic conditions of Belarus.

Note! If the documents are not in Russian on enrolment the applicant must submit the notarially attested translations.

The above mentioned documents with all the necessary enclosures can be sent by E-mail, fax, regular post or delivered to the International Office by any other means as soon as possible. If your documents meet the established requirements You will be sent an Official Letter of Invitation. The Invitation is the ground for obtaining the Entrance Visa and coming to University to sign a contract.

Enrollment

 The decision on eligibility for matriculation to VSMU will be made on the bases of documents submitted and oral interview on the basic subjects.

Foreign citizens submit to the Examination Committee of VSMU the following documents in Byelorussian, Russian or English, French, Spanish, German: • Application for admission in VSMU with indication of the speciality;

• Accomplished education Certificate with the indication of the subjects and received examination marks;
• Medical Certificate given by the local organization of public health services of the Republic of Belarus;
• Health Certificate and the AIDS - Certificate given by the establishments of public health services of the applicant's native country;
• 6 photos (4*6)

Signing the Contract

 General conditions of the overseas student training, responsibilities of the sides and the responsibility to cover the expenses in case of urgent departure of a foreign student from the Republic of Belarus are included in the Contract signed between the applicant and the University for 1 year and then may be prolonged for the whole period of studies. In general, signing the Contract and paying the tuition fees are two obligatory preconditions for enrollment to the University.

Medical Insurance and Check-up

Before the beginning of the academic year a foreign student is to take a supplementary medical examination in one of the hospitals of Vitebsk. It is not free of charge and a student has to cover the expenses himself. To make health service easier for a foreign student in Belarus he is required to sign a contract with one of the Insurance Companies. Applicants admitted in VSMU must start their studies or produce (personally or through the lawful representative) the documents confirming the valid reason of their absence (illness and other unforeseen circumstances) within 10 days after the beginning of the academic year; otherwise they are discharged from the University.

FEE STRUCTURE

The annual tuition fee should be paid in US$ per annum at once at the beginning of academic year (no other currency is accepted).
